SOLAR SALES REPRESENTATIVE
Company Overview:
We are a dynamic and rapidly growing solar industry start-up, specializing in wholesale distribution within the Commercial and Industrial segment. Established in 2023, we are backed by a consortium with roots dating back to the 1980s, initially in wholesale distribution of computer supplies but now expanding into the solar industry. We are partially owned by Exel Solar, the largest solar distributor in Mexico and the third largest in North America, providing us with best practices and industry contacts. Additionally, we are part of NCT Ventures, a venture capital organization with a track record of launching 50 successful startups and offering valuable insights into business scaling.
Our mission is to accelerate the transition to clean and sustainable energy by offering solar project engineering, procurement, marketing, and logistics services. As a Business Development Director, you will play a pivotal role in supporting sales, marketing, and operations, contributing to our mission and growth.
Position Overview:
We are in search of a Solar Sales Representative to identify and develop key accounts, growing revenue and market share for the company. This is a professional sales role that targets resellers of solar solutions, EPCs, Installers and Development companies. This role involves identifying new business opportunities as well as following up on marketing-generated leads to support the company's overall objectives. Previous experience in the solar industry as well as a general understanding of project engineering, product offerings and installation process is a plus.
Responsibilities:
Client Relationship Management: Build and nurture strong relationships with EPC (engineering, procurement and construction) and solar installation business clients. Leverage your existing network and establish new connections within the solar industry.
Market Research:Collaborate with our marketing team to identify potential clients and follow up on leads. Conduct market research and stay informed on industry trends, competitor offerings and opportunities.
Pipeline Management: Maintain an organized sales pipeline and record interactions within the CRM. Provide regular reports of sales pipeline status.
Product Knowledge: Maintain an in-depth understanding of Exel Solar US product catalog and stay updated on industry innovations and emerging technologies. Prepare price quotations and make product recommendations for solar projects leveraging an understanding of solar project software programs such as Aurora or Helioscope.
Team Collaboration: Be willing to roll-up-your sleeves and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless project execution and client satisfaction.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field experience.
Previous contacts and relationships within the solar industry.
Sales experience with successful quota attainment.
Excellent negotiation, communication and interpersonal skills.
Strategic thinking and a results-oriented mindset.
Familiarity with engineering project design tools and planning software (solar industry experience is a plus - Aurora or Helioscope)
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software.
